11.26.2006 New Zealand National 1/8 Buggy and Truggy Race11.26.2006 New Zealand National 1/8 Buggy and Truggy RaceHong Nor are very happy to announce that Martin Wolhuter from Western Australia won TQ for 1/8 Buggy and Truggy with Zac Ryan from Queensland a close second and qualified third in Buggy in last weekends New Zealand championships. Martin with his X1CR Buggy and his X1CRT Truggy went on to win the Truggy final convincingly. Martin also got TQ and went on to win both classes in Brisbane a few months back.
It was interesting to note that Martin consistently did 9 lappers in the 5minuite sprint qualifiers. Zac Ryan was the only other driver that did a 9 lapper in his last round. Martin had a bad start in his buggy final but quickly led the field after it started to rain. He had a comfortable lead when he went through a deep puddle in front of the drivers stand and electrical failure put him out. From all accounts it was a very good race meeting held at the Harewood track in Christchurch, without any problems except for the weather.
